Financial Stability

In Wabash County, and communities around the world, individuals and families are facing financial obstacles such as chronic unemployment, financial instability and homelessness. We are working to remove these hurdles that prevent a good quality of life for our citizens.

How? The programs we support are fighting to put every person on a path toward financial empowerment.

  • Advantage Housing provides counseling, short term solutions for emergency housing, and strategies for permanent housing for the homeless population in Wabash County.
  • United Fund maintains a list of landlords that is available to help people search for viable housing. Contact United Fund for more information.
  • My United Way 2-1-1 facilitates connections between people who need human services and those who provide them.
  • ARC of Wabash County provides work and work-related skills to individuals with developmental disabilities through subcontract projects for area businesses and industries. Programs also provide 24/7 guidance and supervision for adults with disabilities, ensuring their safety and teaching them life skills (cooking, laundry, cleaning, etc). Many are living on their own for the first time.
  • Community Assistance Program (CAP), managed by Lighthouse Mission, provides financial assistance to families that need support for rent, utilities, and prescriptions.
